It has been three months....almost. I managed to undergo the withdrawal symptom period. Not bad for someone who has been an addict for 20 years. A hardcore addict that is.
It was not a difficult process. Many thought I would crawl back to my old habit and old haunt every now and then. But then, I managed to stay clear and only take a whiff every now and then.
No! No! I am not a dadah addict. I was actually addicted to The Malay Mail and a day without the paper was hell once. But now, I am more at ease reading the tabloid online.
It was not easy to stay clear of something you love for 20 years. You can't just take it out of your mind.
But the only time I made contact with the Malay Mailers were during a berbuka puasa function organised by AmBank. I met the editor, Yushaimi Yahaya and then I had lunch with his two reporters, sometime last month.
My heart wanted me to visit them after work but my will said otherwise. Hang on! It said. Well! They may have forgotten who you are anyway, the will said.
Seriously, I don't think we can forget each other that easily. One fine day, I may just drop by and buy them the wonderful team a round of teh tarik.
One fine day...
